TOWING VEHICLE & PAR-T-CART® SAFETY MANUAL

CAUTION
Caution indicates a hazard or unsafe practice that if ignored, could result in product or property damage, personal injury or death.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
You are required to read the owner’s manual completely before operating the par-T-cart® or attempting repair work. Any violations of instructions in the manual may lead to property loss, serious injury, or even death.
If any of the operation or warning decals are damaged in any way, it is important that they be replaced with new decals. Please contact the manufacturer or distributor to receive new decals.
This par-T-cart® is recommended for golf carts and other slow-moving vehicles. Speed not to exceed 25mph.
DANGER
This User’s Manual contains safety information and instructions for your par-T-cart®. You must read this manual before loading or towing your par-T-cart®. You must follow all safety precautions and instructions.
All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Always yield to pedestrians.
Do not allow anyone to hang onto any part of the towing vehicle or par-T-cart® while operating.
Always wear seat belts properly fastened. Make sure the seat belts are latched securely and are free from twists or kinks. To properly secure the seat belt, pull the metal tab from the retractor and insert into buckle. Loose fitted seat belts significantly reduce protection. Always keep belts snug and positioned low on the hips.
Inspect the seat belt webbing and hardware routinely. Replace parts if excessive wear or any damage is noticed. Check for smooth operation and replace if the mechanism is not operating properly.
Do not carry children on your lap or between the seats.
The par-T-cart® is not equipped for child safety seats or infant carry seats. Do not use or install child safety seats in any seat or position in the vehicle.
Children that require the use of a child safety seat should not be transported in this vehicle.
Only carry the number of passengers you have seats or seatbelts for.
Never allow children to operate the towing vehicle or the par-T-cart®.
Adult supervision is required while children on board. Operator must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
Keep children and adults away from wheels and tongue. All passengers must keep all body parts (arms, hands, legs, feet etc.) inside par-T-cart® while vehicle is in motion. Passengers must remain seated while moving.
WARNING
Do not attempt to alter the par-T-cart® in any manner which would affect safety, stability, control and speed. Alterations may lead to serious injury or death, violate state and local laws, and will void the manufacturer warranty.
The par-T-cart® is to be used only with golf carts or other slow-moving vehicles, not to exceed 25mpg.
Please exercise caution at all times when using your par-T-cart®.
Follow all recommended golf cart (and other towing vehicle) and par-T-cart® safety guidelines and safety booklet information.
Use caution when towing the par-T-cart® over rough terrain and hillsides to prevent rolling over and loss of control.
Always operate golf cart (or other towing vehicle) and par-T-cart® at reduced speed in rough terrain. Avoid steep slopes.
Caution! No sharp turns or sudden braking. NEVER reverse downhill.
Do not exceed 25 mph.
WARNING
The par-T-cart® is designed for off-road use only. Do not tow par-T-cart® on highways or public thoroughfares.
ABSOLUTELY NO RECKLESS DRIVING
Stay alert when operating the par-T-cart®. Do not use the par-T-cart® when under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
Lock brake on golf cart (or other towing vehicle) before exiting par-T-cart®. Towing vehicle and par-T-cart® must be completely stopped while entering or exiting the par-T-cart®.
The par-T-cart® is NOT equipped with brakes. Do not park the par-T-cart® on an incline. Use wheel chalks when necessary.
Follow all city and state ordinances.
Connect hitch and pin properly before use. Make sure par-T-cart® coupler is latched properly and pinned before every use. Use lights when required (sold separately with solar power package). Properly maintain and keep par-T-cart® clean.
Avoid using par-T-cart® at night as your par-T-cart® may be difficult to see by others. If the
par-T-cart® must be used at night, use lights on par-T-cart® and headlights on towing vehicle.
WARNING
Inspect par-T-cart® for any damage or loose hardware before and after every use. Replace damaged or worn products immediately.
The maximum total axle weight for the par-T-cart® is 2000 lbs.
Use extreme caution in inclement weather, seek appropriate shelter immediately. Do not use during lightning.
CAUTION
COMPLY WITH ALL GOLF CART AND OTHER SLOW-MOVING VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS. CHECK WITH MANUFACTURER FOR ANY SPECIFICATIONS THAT MAY CAUSE ISSUE WITH YOUR PAR-T-CART®.
WARNING
AN IMPROPERLY COUPLED PAR-T-CART® CAN RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. TIGHTEN THE COUPLER ADJUSTMENT REGULARLY.
WARNING
AN OVERLOADED PAR-T-CART® OR IMPROPER DISTRIBUTION OF LOAD WEIGHT OR SHIFTING PASSENGERS CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE PAR-T-CART®, LEADING TO DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
WARNING
IMPROPER TIRE PRESSURE CAN RESULT IN A BLOWOUT AND LOSS OF CONTROL, WHICH CAN LEAD TO DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. BE SURE TIRES ARE INFLATED TO PRESSURE INDICATED ON SIDEWALL BEFORE TOWING PAR-T-CART®.
MAINTENANCE
- Make sure there is no loose or broken hardware. Replace damaged or worn products immediately.
- Check the axles and springs for wear. Replace damaged or worn products immediately.
- Grease and check bearings as needed (standard axle grease).
- Inspect safety chains and par-T-cart® coupler before every use. Replace damaged or worn products immediately.
- Inspect tires for wear or hazard damage. Replace worn or damaged tires immediately.
- Make sure air pressure in tires meets their recommended specifications.
OPERATIONS
- Read Safety Manual for Golf Cart (towing vehicle) and Par-T-cart®
- Adjust hitch to correct height so that when the towing vehicle and par-T-cart® are on an even surface, the par-T-cart® is level.
- Carefully attach the par-T-cart® coupler to the correct size hitch ball.
- Ensure that the locking latch is in proper position and latched.
- Insert safety pin in the latch. Properly wrap and attach safety chains around a secure place on the towing vehicle. Inspect the par-T-cart®, tires, hitch and coupler for proper use.
